Originally from northeast Ohio, I have spent most of my life in Kentucky. It is here that my wife and I are putting down roots, raising our family, and where I hope to make a meaningful impact on the Elizabethtown community.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville and, over the past eight years, have cared for patients as a registered nurse in emergency, critical care, medical-surgical, occupational health, and behavioral health settings.
Regardless of the setting, I noticed a common theme: mental health often has a tremendous influence on a person's health, recovery, and overall quality of life.
I've always been driven by a desire to understand why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. When I saw firsthand how profoundly mental health influenced people's lives, I knew psychiatry was the path I wanted to pursue.
That realization led me to earn a Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University and become board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
I believe understanding the "why" behind the "what" is one of the most important parts of good care. By exploring the "why" together, we can make informed treatment decisions with purpose.
I hope that by working together, each patient leaves with not only a treatment plan, but also a better understanding of themselves and the confidence to move forward.
